Lake Apopka Natural Gas District (LANGD) is a community-owned public utility providing affordable and reliable natural gas service to more than 30,000 residential, commercial, and industrial customers in West Orange and South Lake counties.
Established in 1959, LANGD is an independent special district of Florida created to meet the region’s growing energy needs. The District is governed by a five-member Board of Commissioners appointed by its member cities (Apopka, Winter Garden, and Clermont) and operates with direct accountability to the communities it serves.
LANGD’s role is straightforward: to provide safe, affordable, and reliable natural gas service to our community while maintaining the infrastructure that supports homes, businesses, and community development throughout the region. Through steady leadership and long-term planning, the District remains focused on serving Central Florida’s growing population with consistency and accountability.
