How Sunshine 811 Works

  1. Call 811 Before You Dig
    • Contact 811 at least a few days before starting any excavation.
  2. Check for Utility Line Markers
    • Underground utility lines are marked so you know what’s below.
  3. Submit a Florida 811 Ticket
    • Submit a Florida 811 ticket at least two full business days before you plan to dig. Tickets are required for any excavation, such as planting trees, installing fences, or building decks, to avoid damaging underground utilities.
