When Work May Be Stopped
A situation may occur when a LANGD field employee determines that a worksite is unsafe or unsanitary. In these cases, the employee will stop work and notify their supervisor.
With supervisor approval, the customer will be advised to either:
- Correct the condition before service resumes, or
- Hire a licensed gas plumber to complete the inside work

If an inside gas leak is reported and conditions are deemed unsafe or unsanitary, LANGD may take the following steps:
- Request the evacuation of the home
(Local fire departments may assist if necessary) - Shut off and lock the gas meter
- Conduct an exterior leak survey to confirm the source
- Advise the customer to contact a licensed gas plumber for repairs
Return Visits & Charges
A trip charge may be applied for return visits related to unsafe or unsanitary conditions.
Exception: No trip charges are applied for leak-related calls.
